Eight years ago, at a family outing, Joe Micke approached me and started asking questions about my insurance providers, Joe asked me if I would go thru him as my agents . Unfortunately I said yes.
Five years ago my car was hit in a parking lot. When I called American Advantage and spoke with Kim Sims, and I was told they don't file my claims we just take your money and pay your bills. That was the first reason I should have walked away. Kim Sims was correct !
March 6, 2024 my hot water heater burst, I called and spoke with Joe directly. Joe immediately stated "do not file a claim", it's not the time to be filing homeowners claims and I should pay the first $20,000 on
my own. Joe Micke then stated I needed a mitigation and recovery company and has used PuroClean the past two claims and they did a great job. Again, was family and I accepted his advise and "he" called PuroClean himself.
Their Salesman stated this damage is under your deductible, You can't file a claim anyway !! It ended up being $4,500 worth of damage. I asked them if they were advised my Joe Micke to make sure I didn't file a claim And they said "YES", so they were just following his direction !!!
When I called Joe Micke that day, he denied every saying that. I told Joe Micke your lying to me. And continued to say
he never told PuroClean that. Per my direction, Joe called my insurance company and they assigned an adjuster.
Following Joe Micke's advise, PuroClean took 6 months to complete a 3.5 day estimate. 6 months, where was Joe
during this time ?? Just not involved, never called, no follow up. Zero follow up !
8 years, my car insurance jumper to $132 per month. I called oe and he actually stated 'I should shop my own coverage and call him back and he can advise if American Advantage works with them'. My first phone call the quote was half of the monthly costs, $65.00 per month.
American Advantage, Joe Micke does not shop your policy !
Needless to say, I no longer have any coverage through American Advantage. And I recommend you do the same.
Kim Sims was correct, they are not involved with your claims.

No matter what type of change request or question I have, it is always taken care of completely and immediately. I would never even take a thought to leave AA. Joe and Kim are in a completely different league when it comes to customer service, personality and character!! Absolutely the best!!!!
